Soon as it finished it would just show the initial text "Arduino Powered Data Display..." I had an issue with my particular Diecimila board. It appears that some were incorrectly loaded with the NG bootloader. This caused issues for me as it causes the Arduino to reset when the Serial connection is opened/closed. There are a couple of modifications you can make if you search around the forums enough (desolder a capacitor, burn the updated bootloader, etc.) Not sure if this is the correct way of doing this, but I found that the reset is initiated using the DTR functionality, so adding the following command helped me out...maybe it will help somebody else with the same issue: $port->dtr_active(0); -Dave I was having issues getting the perl script to update the Arduino. The only issue with that is that they require the $20 FTDI cable. I'd like to get an xport and see just how many different things I can control with a single arduino.
